Connecting people to places means merging the past and present. At Sydney Design Week, architect Sumayya Vally, Principal of Counterspace, helped us reimagine how design and architecture adapts to different spaces and are deeply connected to their history.

“The work of an architect is being able to absorb, reflect and translate who we are into the world.”

– Sumayya Vally, Architect and Principal of Counterspace

Sumayya’s talk, Places of Belonging’, contextualised how architecture is a tool for reshaping the future through the lens of the past. Her work exemplifies this philosophy, demonstrating how spaces can be transformed to reflect cultural narratives and foster a sense of belonging.

Bullet integrates each location’s history, culture, and essence into the overall branding and identity of a project. Embedding these rich narratives allows us to capture the significance of a place and its people. By building on these foundations, we create brands that are connected to the past while shaping the future.
